Now it’s time to talk business. Today’s prolog round on midday didn’t pose to much problems for Liz and me. Liz has to use some gear she borrowed as most of her stuff got stuck in London. In that way she shares the same fate with some other guys who have arrived via London. She also had to hang out for 2 days at the airport in London – brilliant start into a holiday. However, today’s track was perfect and we were having a lot of fun. The track also contained a river crossing that was considerably deep on some spots. So you had to look out for the best way and sometimes get off the vehicle to check. After that the track lead through grasslands and woods – fantastic! The only actual problem was some electrical malfunction on Liz’ bike: The battery did not get reloaded, the electrical starter wouldn’t work and the motor died frequently. So we tried to kick start the motor (for approx. 3 hours) but sometimes it wouldn’t come on again. Fortunately there were many friendly and eager people around to help, so we could take a breather from all those kick starts. Gregg Godfrey and his mates were also on the track. Actually, he’s still up in the hills as one of the drivers ran out of gas. Two of the guys that have been sent out to gather some gas have then showed us the way down into the valley where we could take the road to the hotel. I was towing Liz so my poor EXC bike had a hard time. My GPS gadget shows that we’ve been driven 170 KM in six hours today. So we managed to be at the finish line at just the right time although we’ve spent full 4 hours kick starting Liz’ bike.

But I got go and hurry now: My bike’s waiting. And Liz and her bike also. We need to fix those electrical problems as otherwise we cannot hit the track tomorrow.
